Use the following prompts to guide the development of your statement. The prompts are numbered but write this in narrative form instead of using numbers or bullet points. 
One page maximum
11 font size minimum
Use “I” statements such as “I believe..”, or “I feel..”. This is a written statement about YOU!
Prompts
Try for 1-2 sentences each. Then refine as needed.
Describe what you believe is the role of a teacher of young children (in general).
Describe why you decided to become a teacher of young children. Be specific, what are the experiences and attitudes you have that make you a good match for this profession (Personal).
State what you believe are the unique learning and developmental needs of young children. Include issues you believe are of special importance.
Describe your teaching foundation by aligning with two theories you have learned about in this class. 
Describe one or two teaching strategies you plan to use that align with what you have discussed for the first four prompts (theoretical foundation, understanding of how children learn, the developmental needs of children, and your role as a teacher)
Describe how professional ethics guides your work with children and families
Conclude with your goals related to work with young children and their families
