Students will be required to create a powerpoint for families on Orientation Day at school. The purpose of this assignment will be to teach students how to present important preventative health information in a professional manner and to practice researching resources to appropriately support their presentation to families.
The presentation should be no less than 10 slides (including a Title slide and Reference slide). Students should use APA format when citing their work and include a minimum of at least one scholarly article to support their presentation.
The powerpoint presentation should include the following information:
When to keep children home from school
Include symptoms that children might be exhibiting for families to watch out for
Discuss acceptable and non-acceptable temperatures
Explain acceptable and non-acceptable symptoms
Why keep children home from school
Explain what happens to children mentally and physically when they attend school sick
How does it affect their day?
How does it affect others?
Provide preventative health practices for the home environment
Minimum of five healthy practices
Must include a minimum of 5 pictures to keep the presentation interesting
