Analytical Paper: (50 points total)
a. Format: 10 pages, double-spaced with Times New Roman 12
point font, and 1 inch margins. Use headings and APA
referencing.
i. Describe a stressful event within your family. You should
be clear about what happened, who was involved, how
old each person was, and what relationship (e.g. sister,
father, etc.) each person had with you. You are strongly
urged to select an experience that you were a participant
in rather than an event you observed. (about 2 pages)
ii. Next, explain what happened from the perspective of the
ABC-X Model. You must clearly identify an example for
each letter, and address the internal and external
context. For this section, the emphasis should be the
application of the ABC-X Model rather than simply
retelling your story. (about 2 pages)
iii. Third, compare and contrast your experience with that of
one of the Bronson stories you have read thus far. Briefly
summarize the Bronson story, and be clear why you
chose that particular Bronson story. (about 3 pages)
iv. Fourth, explain what you have learned from this paper
and discuss if and how the ABC-X model provided a useful
interpretation and application for your family experience
with stress and coping. (about 3 pages)
v. Provide a list of references on a separate last page.
vi. Additional grading information. Each section (except for
the References) is worth 10 points. Carefully read each
section to ensure you have everything you need for your
paper. You also get five spelling errors for free.
Thereafter, it is -1 for each misspelled word. Format
errors carry a minimum of -2 for each occurrence. Any
papers that are less than 10 pages result in a zero or
failed grade.
Please note:  Missing a
reference results in a 3 point deduction, and incomplete
referencing results in at least a 1 point deduction for each
occurrence.
