Lecture responses are short, reflective assignments. After finishing the weekly 2 Powerpoints and consider the following question: What was the main point(s) of each lecture? Your assignment is to: 1. Summarize each lecture in a way that concisely explains its main point(s). Your goal is to demonstrate that you have thoroughly engaged with the class material. Be sure to consider the scope of the lecture itself. A statement of approximately 500 words (1 page – single spaced) for the discussion post. 2. See the attached 2 PowerPoints (must listen to the audio) and write an essay as follows: General remarks: You can choose two types of essays in this class: Comparison Essays or Thematic Essays. Comparison Essays require you to analyze two images and to develop a logical discussion of their similarities and differences from a visual and cultural standpoint. Thematic essays require you choose at least three images and to discuss the ways in which they engage with one of the issues we explore in our lectures. Neither type of writing exercise calls for outside research – do not consult any websites, articles, or books without my expressed approval. WRITE THE ESSAY IN YOUR OWN WORDS, no sources needed. The essay should demonstrate what you learned from the 2 attached powerpoints written in either compassion or thematic essay style. Each essay must be longer than two full pages of text, double spaced with 1 inch margins. Write is APA format. Include a title page, an introduction, and a conclusion.
