During this week of study, you will learn about key components of the current ARRA/HITECH laws and mandates and will discuss how these requirements impact your organization. Please review the sources included in the Week 1 Readings and Videos as they provide a solid basis for this presentation. In addition, there is an abundance of information available for you to read on the ARRA/HITECH, Meaningful Use and Promoting Interoperability. Please feel free to search additional resources as well.
In this presentation, address the following items:
What is the purpose of HITECH and what are the core programs associated with HITECH?
Do you agree with the assessments made in the study, Health Information Technology: An Updated Systematic Review with a Focus on Meaningful Use, on the effectiveness of Meaningful Use on clinical quality? Why or why not?
Critique your own organization as it relates to its achievements/challenges with the Meaningful Use and Promoting Interoperability programs.
Maximum 20 slides, not including the title slide or references. I will add 5 slides for question #3 so the ask is for help on 15 slides.
A minimum of 4 academic or professional references are required. Hospital websites, internets, magazines or other non-professional or non-academic resources do not qualify as scholarly sources. If using professional websites, refer to your APA resources for how to correctly format a website in APA 7th Edition format. Use the PPT Notes Pages to explain your slides.
