Paper Guidelines:
Follow the instructions. For these papers, no outside research is necessary. In other words, only use the assigned course materials for the topic you chose.
Make sure to cite these sources in the text of your paper using parenthetical citations. Include a citation at the end of each sentence that contains a fact that is not considered “common knowledge,” for ideas or theories of the author or another person cited in the source, statistical data, whenever you are paraphrasing a portion of text, or when you are quoting word-for-word.
Use CMOS Author-Date to correctly reference course materials in your paper.  Check out the Chicago Manual of Style Author-Date Style – CHEAT SHEET! to help you, which is available under the Pages tab. Papers with no in-text citations will not be accepted. They will be returned to you for revision.
Using the reading by O’Toole, “Gender, Feminism, and Sexuality,” pp. 423–35 and Chapter 5, pp. 121–36, of the book “Politics of Latin America: the Power Game” by Harry Vanden and Gary Provost to write a 500-600 word paper that
discusses three points from the two readings you chose that
stood out to you and connect these ideas to the content of the required
readings, PowerPoint, and film.  Remember to clearly state which
two additional readings you chose to read and cite them and the other course
materials accordingly.
Use this opportunity to comment on your
own insights, opinions, remarks, conclusions, and ideas in your discussion, and
use the readings to help evidence your own thoughts. There is no need to
do any outside research for this paper.
